Beach Love

With the coming of summer comes my absolute obsession with the beach. If I could lie every single day with sand in my hair and collect sea shells I swear, life would still be perfect.
Last week, I went to my parents house in Connecticut. The beaches in our sea shore town are small, but  in a quaint and familiar way. Our neighborhoods are communities that really revolve around the water, docks, boats, sand, etc. The main beach in both my parent's neighborhood is the closest one in all of our town, therefore very crowded. Sometimes, a girl just wants peace and quiet. During my visit, I went on the search for the perfect getaway nook. A place where I could read and tan without being found. I stumbled on "The Meadow."
A nature trail where the grass is as tall as I am, and not a sound from the outside world can be heard. I felt like I had fallen down the rabbit hole, but instead to a peaceful place where I could get lost in my thoughts and smell nothing but flowers and grass.


Lo and behold, on my walk through the meadow, I found none other than a tiny, private, unoccupied beach.



Well, unoccupied except for a couple seagulls.

For the first time, I am actually patiently awaiting my next trip home.

Much like when I found out Harry Potter was going to be buck naked on stage for Equis, here is none other than Shia Labeouf doing the full-frontal thing as well. And it is, well, it's full-frontal.
However, that peeny clip is a mere less than a minute and is the only normal thing in this strange film. The whole thing reminds me strangely of how I feel when I find out someone hot is gay (confused for a  second, disappointed, yet still aroused), and the first time I got high.

Trend Tuesday:

I love beauty and fashion as much as the next girly girl. I am guilty of spending, at the very least, an hour and a half getting ready in the morning.
However, when it comes to the beauty,  I'm a strong believer that one should enhance her strengths rather than try to hide her weaknesses. The most beautiful girls are the ones who look unique.
Apparently I am not the only one who thinks this.
According to Refinery 29, Julia Bluhm is upset with Seventeen Magazine's use of photoshop to airbrush it's models and images. So upset that she is protesting outside of Hearst Tower tomorrow... with a petition signed by 13,000 people. The even more awesome part? Bluhm is only fourteen. Read the rest of the story here.

Trends to Try Tuesday

Call me crazy, but I had a strange dream about this particular quote last night. As a result, today I'm obsessed with the Fabulous Bette Davis; or more notably, "Bette Davis Eyes."

Movies Recently Watched

Project X
Every single party should strive to be like that party. Oh and the soundtrack is awesome. I liked the use of unknown actors to make it seem more like a documentary. It did not have any catchy one-liners, but it's definitely a must see for college age kids. Mostly because I'm sick of going to parties where it's a couple people talking and some lame game of beer pong. Come on people...















The Hurt Locker
Okay almost an exact opposite, I finally saw The Hurt Locker. I mostly wanted to see it for Katheryn Bigelow's Oscar win for Best Director. I was not disappointed. It was an incredibly powerful and moving story. It is very sad, but all around done very well. It certainly puts a new perspective on life and Jeremy Renner makes the movie. Also, a must see but in such a different sense.

Spring Break?


Let me give you a little outlook of today. The sky has been every single shade of gray imaginable. It has been alternating between rain, snow, and freezing rain all day long. Our house has stayed at 59 degrees. On top of that, there has been absolutely NOTHING to do. NOTHING. Nada. Zip. Zilch. Nein. Nothing.
I could be planning a spring break trip to tropical Punta Cana. Five days and five nights of clear blue water, sandy beaches, tropical drinks, sunshine, good music, hot muscular boys, and paradise. Jesus christ just bring a grape and some boys with fans and I would think I had died and gone to heaven.
But no. Guess why. No really, guess.
I'm broke.
Well.... not broke. Certainly not able to afford a trip to anywhere. I could not even afford a trip to fucking Maryland if I wanted to go.
Now I am stuck in goddamned New England with the fucking rain, and the fucking snow, and the goddamned fucking cold.
Fuck.

84th Academy Awards

For us movie-buffs, the Academy Awards are more important than the Superbowl, the Presidential Election, Christmas, etc. From the dresses, to the actual winners, the Academy Awards have been my favorite night of the year since I was five years old. Every year I watch and dream what one day my Oscar dress will look like, who I will thank in my Oscar speech, who I would see and thank for all of their inspiration.... but mostly what my pretty dress will look like (Black off the shoulder gown. Preferably a Valentino design).
This year, the excitement was no exception. And the Oscars were no disappointment. Here is my little overview of the 84th Annual Academy Awards:

Why do relationships come with rules? Why can't people simply "feel things out" and do what comes naturally to them? There's always a "don't do this" "do that" "don't say this or he'll think that" "say this so he'll do this."
But no one does what they were meant to do. The head has been told so many things that the heart forgets how to lead with the utmost passion it should. Remember in kindergarten when you gave the biggest candy bar to your Valentine, because no one told you not to? Remember when you would simply walk up to your crush and say "Will you be my boyfriend/girlfriend?" It was the scariest thing to do, but it felt so right because you said exactly what was on your mind.
No one does that anymore.
I get told not to say I want to see someone because I need to be "the one in control."
It's not a dictatorship. Hell, it's not even a relationship. When you know someone wants to see you, and you want to see them, why do we get so scared to just to say so? Why do we get told to not do that natural thing and just say, "What are you doing tonight?"
Passion and love don't come with rules.

When it comes to most things, not a lot really pisses me off. Especially with guys. For some reason, I'm totally cool with the fact that guys are messy sometimes or do guy kind of things. 
But I have this little pet peeve that really pisses me off to no end. 
I hate when you have a guy over and he leaves his condom and wrapper on the floor. 
REALLY? You realize I'm not going to see that for at least a couple of days and dirty semen covered condom will just be sitting on my rug, seeping into my carpet. How do you know the little sperms won't crawl their way into me and BAM- pregnancy; all because you couldn't simply take your dick rag and place in the garbage can. Would you like it if I left a tampon on your floor for you to pick up? Didn't think so.
The guy I've been seeing lately has done this twice already. And I didn't know how to politely bring up to him that if he did it one more time I was going to shove the damned thing down his throat. I had him over again this past weekend and even moved the trash can into a visible place closer to the bed hoping that he would pick up the hint.
Thankfully he did. Phew. I was worried I would have to pick up old dirty condom later. 
Now maybe I can train him to make the bed too?

Guess Who's Shaking the House

I feel like there's this unspoken game in our house called "Guess Who's Shaking the House."
The more appropriate title would be "Guess Who's Getting Laid... And is it Good." Obviously the quality depends on the Richter scale of our apartment. Bonus points for any sort of yelling, moaning, or slapping sounds to accompany said shaking.

I just moved into a brand new apartment this past weekend. Perfect it's about half the price of the place I used to live in and the biggest room in the house. Definitely a steal. What's the catch? (there's always a catch)
I'm living with five other guys. Yep. Five guys and a blonde.
Two of them I know from high school so it's not like I'm just moving in with five random dudes. One of them was our homecoming king in high school and seems to be the cleaner of the roommates (not that the other guys aren't clean... ish). The other is pledging to be in a frat at the moment. As for the other three; one is older than all of us and has been in the military, one is a pothead with ADHD, and the other is a Korean who is never here.

When I moved, the previous guy left a lot of stuff still in my room. Here's a tiny list of the things he left in the room.

Things left in the room:
- A poster of naked women... which my mom took to give to my 13 year old brother #smh
- A gold satin pillowcase full of- ahem- single unmatched socks.
- A bald eagle poster
- A chain tied to the radiator with handles on each end (debating on keeping this one)
- God only knows how many pencil sharpeners (who uses pencils anymore)
- A pink lamp (definitely keeping that one)
- What looks like a Curious George ashtray, complete with banana.
- A seatbelt.... no, wait. That's a belt.
