Beauty Tip Tuesday: The Beauty Department

http://thebeautydepartment.com/

My new favorite website for all things beauty. I love their hair and make-up tips, but my favorite are the nail tutorials. Their nail ideas are so cute and so simple to do. No tacky nails. They even give you ideas for how to do your hair depending on what outfit you are wearing! Check it out

84th Academy Awards

For us movie-buffs, the Academy Awards are more important than the Superbowl, the Presidential Election, Christmas, etc. From the dresses, to the actual winners, the Academy Awards have been my favorite night of the year since I was five years old. Every year I watch and dream what one day my Oscar dress will look like, who I will thank in my Oscar speech, who I would see and thank for all of their inspiration.... but mostly what my pretty dress will look like (Black off the shoulder gown. Preferably a Valentino design).
This year, the excitement was no exception. And the Oscars were no disappointment. Here is my little overview of the 84th Annual Academy Awards:

Best Dressed:

#3
Rooney Mara in Givenchy

#2
Mila Jovovich in Elie Saab

#1
Jessica Chastain in Alexander McQueen

My Favorite Winners of the Night:

Octavia Spencer for Best Supporting Actress in "The Help"

Christopher Plummer for Best Supporting Actor in "Beginners"

Meryl Streep for Best Actress in "Iron Lady"

Jean Dujardin for Best Actor
And "The Artist" for Best Picture.

The Best Oscar Moments:

Melissa Mccarthy and Rose Byrne with the "Scorsese" drinking game.

Angelina Jolie and her "Right Leg"

Sacha Baron Cohen as The Dictator spilling ashes all over Ryan Seacrest.
"If anyone asks you what you're wearing, just say 'Kim Jong Il!'"

The Perfect Rainy Day Song

Broad Ripple is Burning- Margot and the Nuclear So and So's
Why do relationships come with rules? Why can't people simply "feel things out" and do what comes naturally to them? There's always a "don't do this" "do that" "don't say this or he'll think that" "say this so he'll do this."
But no one does what they were meant to do. The head has been told so many things that the heart forgets how to lead with the utmost passion it should. Remember in kindergarten when you gave the biggest candy bar to your Valentine, because no one told you not to? Remember when you would simply walk up to your crush and say "Will you be my boyfriend/girlfriend?" It was the scariest thing to do, but it felt so right because you said exactly what was on your mind.
No one does that anymore.
I get told not to say I want to see someone because I need to be "the one in control."
It's not a dictatorship. Hell, it's not even a relationship. When you know someone wants to see you, and you want to see them, why do we get so scared to just to say so? Why do we get told to not do that natural thing and just say, "What are you doing tonight?"
Passion and love don't come with rules.

Skinny Love- Bon Iver

When it comes to most things, not a lot really pisses me off. Especially with guys. For some reason, I'm totally cool with the fact that guys are messy sometimes or do guy kind of things.
But I have this little pet peeve that really pisses me off to no end.
I hate when you have a guy over and he leaves his condom and wrapper on the floor.
REALLY? You realize I'm not going to see that for at least a couple of days and dirty semen covered condom will just be sitting on my rug, seeping into my carpet. How do you know the little sperms won't crawl their way into me and BAM- pregnancy; all because you couldn't simply take your dick rag and place in the garbage can. Would you like it if I left a tampon on your floor for you to pick up? Didn't think so.
The guy I've been seeing lately has done this twice already. And I didn't know how to politely bring up to him that if he did it one more time I was going to shove the damned thing down his throat. I had him over again this past weekend and even moved the trash can into a visible place closer to the bed hoping that he would pick up the hint.
Thankfully he did. Phew. I was worried I would have to pick up old dirty condom later.
Now maybe I can train him to make the bed too?
